Liftoff for Direct Air Capture

Challenge

Climeworks is the first commercial Direct Air Capture and Storage technology developer that is removing and storing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as necessary solution to achieving global net zero emissions by 2050.

Solution

BSP continues to execute an integrated government affairs strategy to support Climeworks on its path to U.S. market entry. Through strategic lobbying and advisory services, BSP positioned Climeworks with its partners to be a winning applicant to the IIJA Regional Direct Air Capture Hubs program implemented by the U.S. Department of Energy.

This work resulted in Climeworks receiving three Regional DAC Hubs awards, one in each technical area of interest available through this program. The largest being one of two awards totaling $1 billion in non-dilutive capital from the federal government.
