Qcells

Challenge

Over the past year, the oversupply of imported solar panels in the U.S. caused prices to nosedive, hurting domestic solar manufacturers. Congress and the previous administration took steps to support domestic manufacturers, including issuing rules implementing the Inflation Reduction Act's manufacturing incentives and the domestic content bonus.

Solution

BSP supported Qcells in securing a $1.45B DOE loan guarantee to establish a 3.3GW vertically-integrated solar manufacturing facility in Georgia. This investment repositions the U.S. as a global leader in solar supply chain development, creating thousands of advanced manufacturing jobs and supporting the onshoring of domestic solar manufacturing.
